Climbazole, the chemical name is 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)-3,3-dimethyl-1(Imidazole-1-yl)-2-butanone or 1-(4-Chlorophenoxy)-1-(imidazol-1-yl)-3,3-dimethylbutan-2-one, is an anti-dandruff and antipruritic agent successfully developed by Bayer in Germany in 1977. This compound has unique antifungal ability and has inhibitory effects on Bacillus capitovalis, Pityrosporum ovale, Candida albicans, and Trichophyton.

In addition, Climbazole is very suitable for use in formulations. It is not only stable to light and heat, but also easily soluble in organic solvents.

Climbazole is a low-toxic substance, adding Climbazole will significantly increase the viscosity of shampoo.
