Benzophenone-4, also called 2-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone-5-sulphonic acid, UV-284 or Sulisobenzone, the CAS number is: 4065-45-6, which is a broad-spectrum ultraviolet absorber. It has the advantages of high absorption efficiency, non-toxic, no teratogenic side effects, and good light and thermal stability. Benzophenone-4(BP-4) can absorb both UV-A and UV-B, which is a category I sunscreen approved by the US FDA. It is used frequently in the United States and Europe, and is widely used in sunscreen cosmetics such as sunscreen creams, honey, lotions, and oils.
